Overview

SOLA Tours ("we," "our," or "the app") is a voice-guided driving tour application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app accesses and how.

Short version

SOLA Tours runs entirely on your iPhone. We don't have a server. We don't collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Your location stays on your device.

What the App Accesses

Location

• The app uses your device's GPS to detect when you are near a point of interest, so it can play the corresponding audio narration.
• Location is processed entirely on your device. Nothing is transmitted to us or any third party.
• We do not store your location history.
• You can grant "While Using the App" or "Always" permission. "Always" is recommended so narration continues when your phone is locked during a drive. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → SOLA Tours.

Other Permissions

The app does not request access to your microphone, contacts, photos, or calendar.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number).
• We do not collect analytics or usage data.
• We do not use tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs.
• We do not have user accounts.
• We do not use cookies.
• We do not share any data with third parties.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app saves the following to your device only (using iOS UserDefaults and Keychain):

• Your selected city and tour preferences
• Your in-progress tour state (so you can resume later)
• Your settings (voice, theme, trigger sensitivity, topic filters)
• Statistics on tours completed and cities explored

You can delete all of this by uninstalling the app.

Third-Party Services

Apple Maps

When you tap "Open in Maps" or "Open Full Route in Apple Maps," the destination is handed off to Apple Maps on your device. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

iOS Share Sheet ("Send to Tesla" and similar)

When you tap "Tesla," the destination is passed to the iOS share sheet so you can send it to the Tesla app or any other compatible app on your device. We do not communicate with Tesla's servers from this app.

Children's Privacy

SOLA Tours does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated 9+ due to mild references to ghost stories in some tour content.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
